The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) published on 12 January 2018 their semiannual regulatory agenda. The publications enumerate regulatory actions expected to be on the agencies’ radar for further development and/or review during the fiscal year of 2018. The agential action includes the opportunity to provide comments on the regulatory agenda there described. Comments on upcoming CPSC regulatory developments, for example, must be made available to CPSC by 12 February 2018.

The publications are regulatory planning mechanism and are prescribed by the Regulatory Flexibility Act and Executive Order No. 12866 titled "Regulatory Planning and Review." These planning statements assist agencies to define policies and regulatory priorities.
